Build & Fill a Frame is a fun, relaxed craft night for all skill levels, whether you’re a seasoned artist or picking up clay for the very first time. You’ll learn the essential tools, tips and tricks, conditioning and rolling techniques, shaping and cutting, decorating ideas, painting with acrylics, sealing for a lasting finish, and more. We’ll also provide instant film so you can snap your own Polaroid photos, then design and create a one-of-a-kind frame for your film to live in. All the while working through a guided project that brings your creative ideas to life as a beautiful, original handmade keepsake.

Workshop Details
Join us for a simple, one night workshop where you will create your very own ceramic frame for a polaroid picture. Leave with a finished product, have tons of fun, and learn new skills!

Workshop Schedule

Students will observe a hands on demonstration of how to use polymer clay to construct a picture frame. Shapes available for support to create fun unique shaped frames from ovals, rectangles, squares, squiggly, and the chance to make it uniquely your own!

After the clay frame is constructed students will have the opportunity to add fun details by adding colorful clay, or carving unique textures and patterns into the frame.

While our ceramic frames bake in the oven for 20 minutes students will have the opportunity to use our Polaroid camera and take their very own photos for their frame!

Once the frames have finished baking and the photos have developed it’s time for our final stage which is using acrylic paint to fully paint our frames. This provides a colorful, shiny seal that truly brings the frames to life. Once dry we will assemble the Polaroid photos into the frame and celebrate our beautiful creations.

No prior experience is necessary - this workshop is designed for everyone, whether you are an experienced artist or a creative beginner! We will support you every step of the way.

All art supplies will be provided by Cici’s Studios including the clay, clay tools, paint, and Polaroid materials. If you are 21+ you are able to bring alcoholic beverages and any snacks you would like to enjoy during your class. Please note food and drinks will not be provided by Cici’s Studios.

Every student will walk away with a fully completed, fired, and sealed polymer clay frame, assembled with their own Polaroid photo taken during class.

Absolutely! Each session includes time for live Q&A, and you’re encouraged to ask questions throughout as you work.
